“Silverberg's writing is fearless, digging into the messiness of the human experience with an eye toward justice.”– NEW YORK TIMES BOOK REVIEW

Sex Is A Funny Word: A Book About Bodies, Feelings, And You
“The literary Magic School Bus of sex education.” – Today’s Parent
By Cory Silverberg & Fiona Smyth
Seven Stories Press, 2015 | ISBN: 9781609806064
Sex Is a Funny Word is an essential resource about bodies, gender, and sexuality for children ages 8 to 10 as well as their parents and caregivers.
Much more than the "facts of life" Sex Is a Funny Word opens up conversations between young people and their caregivers in a way that allows adults to convey their values and beliefs while providing information about boundaries, safety, and joy. And it does so in a way that is inclusive of a wide range of orientations and identities, bodies, and experience, including lesbian, gay, and bisexual experience, trans, non-binary, and gender queer identities, disabled and intersex bodies.

You Know, Sex: Bodies, Gender, Puberty, and Other Things
“This is not your everyday puberty resource…as I read it, I was overcome with joy that kids will have access to such an engaging resource.” – New York Times
By Cory Silverberg & Fiona Smyth
Seven Stories Press, 2022 | ISBN: 9781644210819
You Know, Sex covers the big three of puberty—hormones, reproduction, and development—all in the context of power, pleasure, and how to be a decent human being.
Centering young people’s experiences of pressures and joy, risk and reward, confusion and discovery, You Know, Sex includes information on body autonomy, gender, consent, pornography, sexual harassment and assault, trauma, and more.
The puberty, anatomy, and reproduction chapters include trans, nonbinary, and intersex bodies and experience, and all of it takes place in our contemporary, media-saturated world (aka, there’s lots of smart phones and social media).

The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability
“The book tackles a vast topic and does so with grace and ease. Wide-ranging, and sensitively written, The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability is also refreshingly inclusive.” – Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy
By Miriam Kaufman, Fran Odette, and Cory Silverberg
Cleis Press, 2007 | ISBN: 978-1573443043
There was a time in the early 2000’s when sex guides were flourishing. But most of them left those of us who live with disabilities, pain, illness, or chronic conditions out.
With more of a focus on instructional how-to than social and political justice (a balance which the authors would correct if they were to write the same book today), this guide provides readers with encouragement, support, and information to explore their sexuality in a way that works for them.
The book covers building a positive sexual self-image; positions to minimize stress and maximize pleasure; dealing with fatigue or pain during sex; finding partners and talking with partners about sex and disability; adapting sex toys; and more.
